Spring Break

Grant's Spring Break from school fell on the week before Easter, so the four of us took it easy and read lots of Easter books and made lots of Easter crafts during the week.

On Monday, We read this book about Easter:

After I finished reading the book, the kids colored a wooden Resurrection scene.

We also had one last major snow storm come through town.

Needless to say, the chickens stayed inside all day.

On Tuesday, I read another Easter book, and then the kids made some egg-shaped sun catchers.

It's hard to see, but the stripes are light blue and light pink ribbon.

On Wednesday, we colored Easter Eggs.

We also blew out some eggs so we could paint them.  All of the kids LOVED it this year, and had a lot of fun taking turns blowing out the eggs, and watching the other ones do it was fun, too!

On Thursday, the girls made these these tissue paper baskets from The Artful ParentGrant opted out of this craft.

They were dipping pieces of crumpled tissue paper into a mixture of glue and water.  Eventually glue was dripping all over the place, and was getting all over their hands.  They began to get very interested in what the glue was doing as it was drying.

After we finished the baskets, I hid the eggs that go along with the folowing book.  As soon as they found all the eggs, we went through them all following along with the book.

We let the baskets dry, and they will become part of our Easter Dinner centerpiece. Look for them in the next post!
