A Weekend of Fun

Over the weekend of August 8th, the kid's had a special visit from their cousin. Not only did they manage to entertain themselves for hours in the wood shop/club house, we also had a day trip and got through: #35. Go to the City Museum and #18. Go to Ted Drewe's off our Summer Fun List.

Grant and his cousin busted out Grant's tools and began making various items out of wood, including a bike ramp.  They also decided the detached garage where they found the wood would make an awesome place for a club house.  So, they put down some carpet, cleaned up, hung some decorations, brought down a radio, and made themselves a table and benchesThey also made a sign and wanted to sell some of their items, but changed their minds.

Table-top writing.  A shout-out to the Dads.

Signs they hung up to liven up the place, and below that another table they made to hold wood.

The girls got in on the fun too, and Julia was in charge of holding the welcome sign.

That weekend we also took our guest to the City Museum, Ted Drewe's frozen custard stand, and Turtle Park.

As always, The City Museum was an adventure.

Julia and I waited at the bottom while the others made the trek up the stairs to the top of the 10 story slide.

Cory getting in on the ramp action.

Once we had finished exploring the City Museum, we headed to the famous Ted Drewe's frozen custard stand.

After we finished our yummy frozen custard, we took the kids to Turtle Park to play for awhile.

Nice, smiling faces, to....

Super silly kids!

After Turtle Park, we grabbed a quick dinner and then headed home.  Needless to say, everyone slept well that night!
