Art Camp

A few weeks ago, Grant attended a Fine Arts Camp for Warrenton County students.  Throughout the week they made art projects, learned a dance routine, a short drama skit, and some songs.  Grant said he enjoyed the camp, but didn't enjoy the performance part of it.  At the the end of the week they had an assembly so the kids could show off what they did all week.  The kids were divided by age, and each group had a skit and various songs they performed.  Grant said he was very nervous to be in front of all the people.  Not to mention that he said all the songs they learned were "girl songs".

In the above pre-performance photo, the boy on the right of Grant was on his baseball team, and Grant said he really liked  the boy on his left and hung out with him most of the time (I forget his name).

Doesn't he look excited to be there?

The skit they performed was called, "What Shoes Do You Choose?".  All the kids had to bring an old pair of shoes they could decorate.  Grant had "walk on the wall" shoes.  He was hoping to attach suction cups to the bottom of them and actually do some walking on the walls, but he had to settle for plastic milk jug caps.  In the end, the girl who was choosing the shoes decided to take all the shoes.

The girl on the left, who had the lead role and who happens to really like Grant (wink, wink), and the two girls to the right of Grant, are all home schooled and were in our home school group this past semester.  All and all, it was pretty funny to watch as Grant looked like he would rather be anywhere else but there.  Later on when he watched himself on the tape he said it made him nervous to watch it. Especially since he had to sing all girl songs (he,he).

Please get me outta here!
