(I love how Grant made his "o" pyramid into Johanna, Julia and himself riding in cars.)
On Monday, Grant and I played a game to help review nouns. I gave him a theme, such as space, sports, underwater, etc., and he had to name all the nouns he could think of associated with the themes. I also introduced the form drawing for the week:
I also told Grant the story of Joshua's defeat over the Amalekites (as long as Moses held his staff up high over his head).
After I was done reading the story, Grant and I drew pictures in our lesson books.

Johanna saw the drawing on the chalkboard, and just decided to sit down and draw it on her own, too. Look at her cute little Moses..

I also read this fun book for St. Patrick's Day:
On Tuesday, Grant was excited to be doing string games again (Tuesdays will now be "string game" day). I also had Grant retell me the story from yesterday, help me come up with a summary, and then copy it into his lesson book.
Afterward, told Grant the story of the Ten Commandments, and then we began making our own. I cut cardboard into tablet shapes, and Grant painted them gray.
I didn't get a picture of it, but I modified the chalkboard drawing from the day before by making Moses holding two stone tablets standing on top of a brown mountain, instead of a green hill. I called it resourcefulness, Grant called it funny. He also just decided to pick up the block crayons and draw his own picture of moses with the stone tablets.
I also read the kids this book:
The girls worked on making some shamrock suncatchers while Grant and I were doing other school work.
On Wednesday, we reviewd adjectives with a fun little game. I asked Grant to give me as many adjectives he could think of that started with the letter G, and then we wrote it out like this:
Giant Great Green Grand Good Grant
Grant also re-told me the story from Tuesday, and then he helped me come up with a summary, and then copied it into his book.
We also finished making our Ten Commandments tablets.
After we were done, I told Grant a story about the battle of Jericho.
We also began making these handprint leprechauns.
On Thursday, I had Grant re-tell me the battle of Jericho story, and then he helped me come up with a summary and copied it into his lesson book.
Grant also drew the form drawing in his book.
I read the kids this book:
Finally, the kids finished their handprint leprechauns.
