Field Day 2013

On May 23rd, the girl's participated in the annual Homeschool Field Day.  It was a little cold and windy that morning, but they still had fun doing all the activities.  The kids were split up into groups by age and gender.  I was in charge of Julia's group, which ended up only having two girls.

Below is Julia doing the water race.  The kids had to transfer water from one bucket to another until they knocked a ping pong ball out of the second bucket.  It took a while.  That little ping pong ball was stubborn! The one who splashed the ball out of the bucket first won this event.

 The Power Hit

The egg and spoon race.  Here they transferred plastic eggs from one bucket to another using a spoon.  Whoever had the most eggs in their bucket at the end of 2 minutes won.

These two girls finished with their activities first, so they went over and played in the rocks at the playground while they waited.

 Still waiting......

Johanna's group actually took the longest to get through the activities because it was a larger group, and they had do a lot of tie-breakers.

Egg and Spoon Race

Soccer Kick

Waiting for her turn, and wishing I would stop taking pictures.

Sack Race

Standing Long Jump

Shuttle Run (with Julia in the background cheering her on, and wishing she would be done already).

Johanna did awesome at the target throw!  She may be our next little softball player!

After everyone was finished, we had lunch with the other families, and all the kids got their certificates. The girls had some time to play with their friends, and then we headed home to get warmed up!
