A Plane Ride at Sunset

This past Saturday, we went to a retirement party for one of Cory's patients.  Her husband just happens to be a pilot, and the party just happened to be in their airplane hanger, and it just so happened that he was giving airplane rides.

Julia saw the plane coming and said, "Oh, yeah.  Let's get in there!"

Our plane ride ended up being at sunset.  It's not everyday you get to see a sunset with that kind of view!

The kids thought these headphones and microphones were great.  At least for awhile.  Johanna and Julia decided to take their headphones off about halfway through the flight.  I liked the noise canceling effect.  I need to get some of those for home!

I did end up holding Julia in my lap so she would have a better view.  All she could see from that chair was, well, pretty much nothing.  Willard, our pilot, actually flew us out over our house, but it was getting dark by the time we got there, so you couldn't see our house clearly.  We could see surrounding landmarks, so we knew we were there.  Cory also got to take over for awhile, but he was more than happy to hand the controls back over to Will for the landing!
