Crazy Day!

This day had to go on record! I started off by leaving 30 minutes late this morning for my second knitting lesson. All three kids came along. My "teacher" has a 2 year old son, and lots of toys, so the kids were occupied while I was taking one more step on my way to "master knitter". We got out of there late at 10:40 am, and I was supposed to drop of the kids at Grandpa's house and meet Cory for a consultation appointment at 11:00. Cory was having a hectic morning of his own. I called him at 10:45 am to see where he was and, only one of his staff members showed up for work and he hadn't even left the office yet! Due to time constraints and mis-information about where the appointment was, all three kids came along to our appointment. The irony of this is the consultation was concerning a more permanent form of birth control, and not quite an appropriate place for the three kids. Our appointment ended up being by Whole Foods, so we went there for lunch. The kids and I left Cory there to go grocery shopping, then on to birthday shopping for moi, and finally stopping to adjust a patient on his way home. I still had to make a stop at the optometrist office so she could re-check the contact in my left eye that I was having problems with. I was supposed to be there around 11:45 am, but ended up being there at about 1:30 pm, again with all three kids. Wouldn't you know that the Dr. takes her lunch break from 1:00-2:00. They were going to try to squeeze me in with another Dr., but ended up calling mine to see if she could come back early from lunch, which she did. Thank you! The assistant got me started and got me into an exam room, and said the Dr. would be with me in a few minutes. Thinking this meant 10-15 minutes, I started to nurse a fussy Julia. She had just started nursing, when in walks the Dr. So, I stopped her, which did not make her happy and she proceeded to cry. The Dr. said I could nurse her if I needed to, so that's what I did and she continued with my eye exam. How many people can say they breastfed their baby during their eye exam? We finally managed to make it to Grandpa's house, the two girls laid down for a nap, Grandpa took Grant to the park, and Mom worked on her knitting. After dinner with Grandma and Grandpa, baths, and another nursing session, we managed to make it home 13 hours later. I am not leaving the house tomorrow!
