A Ninjago Birthday Party

For his 10th Birthday party on April 6th, 2013, Grant chose a Ninjago Lego theme.

The mood was set with Ninjago balloons, a banner and streamers, favor bags, t-shirts that were at-the-ready to make quick ninja masks, origami ninjas made by the kids, and Grant's proudly displayed Hapkido nunchucks in my glass lantern (behind the origami ninjas).

The show-stopper was this cake made by our friend, Cara.

Next, we added LOTS of family and friends.

Cooper

Travis and Sabrina

Grandma and Abby

Grandpa with Abby

The girls with their buddy, Makenna.

Every boy that Grant invited from his 3rd/4th grade class came, along with some siblings.

First, the kids decorated rubber shurikens, and then they used them to hit "bad guy" targets.

After that, everyone ate, and then Grant blew out the candles on his cake.

Next, the kids dug through popcorn with chopsticks to find little ninjas.  Those little guys got added to their favor bags. Here Caleb S. and Jeremiah are on the hunt, while Josiah, Adam, Caleb A., Austin, Liam and Leo are looking on.

Here Grant and Liam are going head-to-head to see who can find the most ninjas while Viktor and Johanna cheered them on.

I had forgotten about the t-shirt ninja masks until right before we were getting ready to do the pinata.  So, what better time to have everyone put them on, right?

Grant got ready to hit the skeleton pinata......

and...knocked it down in one hit.  Bummer!  The kids still enjoyed collecting all the goodies!

The Ninjas

Look! There I am....see, I really was there!

Caleb A. and Viktor looking for fish.

By this time, the friends from Grant's school had left since their parent's had come to pick them up.  There were still some friends, and all the family there to watch him open his presents.  Wouldn't you guess that he go A LOT of Lego's!

It was a great party!
