A Penguin Party

On Saturday, March 31, we celebrated Grant's 9th birthday with a penguin party.  As the kids arrived, they drew and colored some penguin shrinky dinks which would be used to make snow globes.

Afterwards, we ate and then the kids had some time to play.  We also did an "egg-carrying" race where the kids had to carry a ball on the top of their feet, just like the Daddy penguins carry the eggs.  It was pretty funny to watch them try to get to the finish line without dropping their "egg".

Once the race was over, the kids got to take some swings at a penguin pinata - and collect all the goodies.

(This hit by Grant sent the penguin's head flying through the air.)

There was also some tree house exploration and swinging going on.

Once all the treasures were collected, we made our way back inside for presents and cake.

Grant (and all his guests) had a great time, and really enjoyed his penguin party!
