Giving Thanks

Last week school was pretty laid back.  On Monday, we didn't have any school because I took the kids to another Mom's house where a group of us met for an "herb party".  The kids had fun playing with some new friends, while I learned how to make, and took him all different kinds of teas, tinctures and syrups.  We made elderberry syrup, catnip-elder fever reducing tea, dried echinacea tincture, and thyme cough syrup, just to name a few.  We should be set for the cold and flu season (for a few years)!

On Tuesday, I read the kids two Thanksgiving books:

Afterward, we we made turkey hand print placemats with everyone's name on them for Thanksgiving dinner.

Here is a sample of the finished project:

On Wednesday, I read the kids two more books about Thanksgiving:

We also made these "Mayflower" boats from the November 2011 Issue of Family Fun magazine for the kid's Thanksgiving table.

We spent the rest of Wednesday getting ready for our out-of-town guests, and starting the preparations for Thanksgiving dinner.  We had a wonderful time on Thursday celebrating Thanksgiving at our home surrounded by loved ones..... and LOTS of yummy food!

We are truly blessed in many ways!
