The Beauty of Spring

Easter Egg Hunt

After church, Grandma and Grandpa Hedberg, and Uncle Jeff and his girlfriend Crissy came over to our house for Easter dinner and an Easter eggs hunt for the kids.  Once Julia found her first egg, all she was interested in was eating the candy from the inside.

Ooo, Chocolate.  My favorite!

Jeff and Crissy watching Julia trying to eat a gummy worm (organic and all-natural, of course).

Johanna is pouting here because Grant ran off to get an egg and left her behind.

"Hey, did we find all the eggs?"

Pretty Easter Girls

I thought I bought matching Easter dresses, but when it came time to put them on for church I couldn't find Julia's.  Did I, or did I not?

Easter Basket Treasures

The girls woke up on Easter morning to find their Easter baskets had been filled by the Easter bunny the night before.  Grant spent the night and Grandma and Grandpa Hedberg's house, so he found his later.

I think this may be chocolate....

Yes!  Yummy chocolate!

Mom's Birthday Dinner

On Saturday, April 3, we went out to dinner to celebrate my Birthday at Wapango.  It is a Mexican/Latin Fusion restaraunt, and it is really yummy!

This would be Julia eating a lemon.

Grant's Birthday

Grant beat the sun up on the morning of April 2nd to open his presents!  He woke up and followed the gold and silver paper stars to find his chair and the table where he sits decorated for his seventh birthday.

Grant is also "in charge" on his Birthday so he was able to request all meals, and skip his chores.  He seemed to think that being in charge also meant he didn't have to listen to Mom, but I explained that there is a difference between the two.

After opening his presents we had breakfast.  He requested pancakes.  He also requested hamburgers for lunch and quiche for dinner, so that's what we had.

Since Grant's Birthday fell on Good Friday this year, we made hot cross buns after breakfast.

Once Dad got home from work in the afternoon, the two of them went to hit some golf balls.  Grant had been looking forward to that for a long time.

I also made a requested cheesecake for his "cake" which we ate after our dinner of quiche and hot cross buns.

Grant had a great day, and said his favorite part was, well, all of it!

A Visit To See The Easter Bunny

The kids and I went to visit the Easter Bunny at Dad's office today.  It was Julia's first time seeing the Easter bunny and she wasn't quite sure what to think at first.  She warmed up to her pretty quickly, though.  Grant wasn't fooled, and knew who was underneath the costume, and Johanna wondered why the Easter Bunny had shoes sticking out from underneath her feet.  Later at home she asked me why our friend Jean was dressed up like the Easter Bunny.  Darn!  At least Julia was none the wiser.
