Nerd Day
Day of Ages (Grant's from the future, and then obviously Julia's from the 20's and Johanna's from the pioneer days.)
Duck Dynasty/Camouflage Day (I honestly cannot remember why I didn't take a picture with Julia in it. I don't think she had on much camo.)
The last two days were spirit day, where the kids wore shirts with the school logo, beads and fun face stickers, and finally, pajama day.
Each class put together a shopping cart "float", and there was a parade with these down the hall on Friday before the Homecoming assembly.
I helped Johanna's 1st/2nd grade class with their float. The opposing team were called the "blockbusters", so that's the theme we had to work with for the carts. Here's our finished product:
You could pull a rope in the back, and all the blocks on the top would fly off, along with streamers and confetti, and a picture of an eagle would pop out. Our cart actually won the top prize of Grand Champion, but there was some controversy because the carts weren't supposed to have moving parts. I didn't know that at the time we were putting it together. Oops...
The all-school assembly
Here's when our float was announced as the Grand Champion.
Announcing of the JV basketball players.
Grant and Johanna's class were tied for the most spirited class, so they had to do a "cheer off." Each class had to come up with a cheer to perform at the assembly. Grant's class was picked as the winner.
Here are the rest of the carts:
Kindergarten (Julia's class)
3rd/4th grade
5th/6th grade (Grant's class)
7th/8th grade
It was a fun week, and all the classes did a great job with their carts!
