Halloween 2013

The kids got all decked out in their costumes again to celebrate Halloween with trick-or-treating at Grandma and Grandpa's house.

I think the girls are trying to figure out this costume!

Disney Cruise Day 7 - Castway Cay

We found ourselves docked at Disney's private island, Castaway Cay, on the morning of Friday, October 25th.

We spent the whole day on the island, and were able to do many fun things. Cory and Johanna went snorkeling while Grant and Julia played on the beach.

After Cory and Johanna returned from snorkeling, we decided to take a bike ride around the island.

This turned out not to be the greatest idea.  Julia went about 100 feet and was tired and had trouble steering the bike.  Johanna went a little further, but soon found it difficult to ride with the training wheels.  The bike was too small for her, she had trouble going up inclines, and it was hard for her to keep up.  She did manage to make it pretty far before we decided to turn around and go back.  Unfortunately, the ride ended up in tears for her as she complained of her legs hurting and getting tired.  It did motivate us to take some more time to teach her how to ride a bike once we returned home.

Hi Grant!

They had a bunch of these little guys down in the marsh area below the lookout tower.

Later we ate lunch, and then Grant, Cory and I went snorkeling while the girls stayed on the beach with Grandma and Grandpa.

We went back onto the ship in the early evening, and then got ready for dinner.  This dinner was a special treat.  There were placements waiting for us on which to draw characters.

Once we were finished drawing our characters, they took our mats away, and then towards the end of dinner, they played a cartoon on the TV screens in the restaurant featuring everyone's animated cartoon characters.  It was awesome to see them all come alive on screen and move around! The kids also enjoyed frosting and decorating their own cupcakes for dessert.

After dinner, we made the rounds one last time to see the characters we didn't get pictures with earlier in the week.  They were all out for one last shebang.

We also watched the send-off for all the characters as they said good-bye.

We went back to our cabin to turn in for our final night at sea. The girls were especially excited about our towel creation on this final night.  A monkey!

Our cruise experience ended the following morning as we had breakfast one last time on the ship before heading to the airport.

We all really enjoyed the cruise, and the kids are already asking when we're going on the next one.
