Sand Gnomes

We have been busy collecting acorns from our old oak trees, and Grant thought he would make some gnomes with the acorns and sand. He wanted to bring them in the house and put them on the nature table, but Cory and I tried to explain to him that they would not travel well and would have to be outside gnomes.

One Tasty Apple

We were finally able to enjoy the first fruit from one of our many fruit trees. The funny thing is that it is not even from one of our 3-year-old trees, but from a tree we just planted last year. It was the only little apple on that little apple tree. At first we thought the deer had beat us to it once again, but Cory found it on the ground by the tree while he was mowing. I was so happy! This apple was Soooooo good! It was sweet, tart and crunchy. Give it another 4-5 years and we may have enough to share.

Johanna's Birthday Party

We had a 2-in-1 Birthday party for Julia and Johanna. I wanted to keep them somewhat separate since this was Julia's first Birthday. We had two decorating themes going, and two different cakes (well, cupcakes for Julia). I think the little girl on Johanna's cake and her invitations looked a little bit like her. A blond haired cutie-patootie. Johanna received a lot of nice girley, pink, dress-up like a princess presents. All of those are right up her alley. She specifically requested chocolate cake, and she enjoyed it!

Julia's First Birthday

Julia is 1 already! I can't believe it! We had a good time celebrating with family and friends. Julia had a good time opening presents and spending time with everyone.

She especially liked her birthday cupcake which was her first taste of sugar!

The Great Frog Escape

I happened to catch one of our tadpoles, now turned frog (except for the little tail) ready to go out into the big world. He was poised on the rim of the jar, probably deciding if he wanted to take the big jump or not. Grant gave him a little help out. We have more tadpoles at all different stages of "froggy-ness". They have been fun to watch.

Johanna's Special Day

Johanna woke up on her third Birthday to a path of gold stars and balloons for her to follow to the birthday table decorated just for her, complete with a few presents.

Kittyman on "the path"

Grant helped her open presents then we sang Happy Birthday, lit the candles on her Birthday ring, and ate breakfast.

Johanna listened to this muscial card non-stop for the whole day.

After breakfast, the kids enjoyed playing with the new toys.
