We got to the play center, set up our Valentine's boxes, and then the kids wanted to try roller skating for the first time.
Grant made the monster box on the left, with Johanna's next to his, and then Julia's Valentine mailbox.
The first attempt at roller skating was very interesting, to say the least. Julia didn't last very long, as she couldn't stay up on her feet long enough to go anywhere. She quickly decided to sit out with Uncle Jeff.
I walked a lap around with Johanna before she decided she was done.
Grant went off on his own, clinging to the wall for dear life. Once Johanna decided she was done, she ran off with Julia to play on the indoor playground, and I went out with Grant. He decided to try the in-line skates, and he liked those better. By the time we left, he was skating around without the help of the wall, but with the occasional fall. He would have had it down pretty good if he had another half hour, or so.
Johanna decided to go out one more time on the rink with me before we left, but before then we went around and put our valentines into all the kid's boxes.
The kids look forward to this party every year, and they had a lot of fun skating, playing and collecting Valentine's cards.
