Strawberry Cake

Tis the season!  We are soon to be in the middle of a large strawberry harvest here, and I am looking forward to making strawberry freezer jam, and lots of strawberry shortcake.  I also came across this recipe in the Cook's Country magazine and thought it would be a good cake to make for a certain little girl's birthday, who happens to love pink, which is coming up in July.  I thought it was necessary for us all to suffer, and do a trial run of the cake.  While the cake was delicious, and a soft shade of pink, chocolate still wins out for the certain little girl.

(We just thought is was pretty, in addition to tasty, and very photo worthy.)
