Bluebirds

Grandpa Paul made us several of these barn wood bluebird houses which we put up around our property.  This particular one we passed everyday on our walk before school.

One day we decided to open it to see if a mama bird had found it, and look what we found inside!

After that we peeked in everyday, and we found these beauties on April 25th.

We continued to check in on the eggs everyday, and soon we found these little guys.
May 1st

They continued to grow quickly.

About this time, the mother was becoming very protective and would dive bomb us by flying close to our heads while we were looking in the nest.  We tried to be as fast as we could, and were careful to leave everything undisturbed.  By the next week the birds had flown away.  The kids really enjoyed watching the birds grow.

Now, we will have to keep our eye on this Carolina Wren's nest and this one little egg that is on a shelf in our garage.....
